Westlake Village is a beautiful suburban community off the 101 freeway between Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks. Located about an hour to Santa Barbara and 45 minutes to Los Angeles, Westlake Village is in a wonderful location.
Westlake Village was incorporated in 1981. The eastern part of Westlake Village is located in Los Angeles County and the western part is in Ventura County. The original community was known simply as “Westlake”. Roughly two-thirds of it was annexed by the city of Thousand Oaks in two portions, in 1968 and 1972. In 1981, the remaining third eventually incorporated as the City of Westlake Village. Much of Westlake Village is surrounded by open space, including hiking and horse trails, as well as the vast Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The town is in the northwestern Santa Monica Mountains area, and is 9 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. The lake lies within the watershed of Malibu Creek.

The restaurants in the Promenade are Grill on the Alley, Public School 805, Marmalade Cafe, Farfalla Trattoria and Champagne French Bakery Cafe.
The Shoppes at Westlake Village is a newer outdoor shopping area with lots of shops and restaurants including Target, Guitar Center, Tilly’s, In-n-Out, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company, the Gallery, Los Agaves, Hook Burger & Pick Up Stix.
The City’s new Westlake Village Community Park along with the Triunfo YMCA facility features a 19-acre active park site and a 55,000 square feet facility for the YMCA, including the Dole Interactive Learning Center, Store, and Café.
