OAK PARK WEATHER

Oak Park is a beautiful suburban community located to the North of Agoura Hills and just South of Simi Valley. It’s a great location just a half hour to Malibu and less than an hour to Los Angeles. It’s the largest unincorporated community in Ventura County.

 

Oak Park was developed in the late 1960s when Metropolitan Development Corporation purchased the land from Jim & Marian Jordan, stars of the radio show Fibber McGee and Molly. It was originally part of Rancho Simi. Homes were developed in the late4 1960s. All available land has been developed in Oak Park with the remaining vacant land owned by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.

 

The population of Oak Park is approximately 14,000.

 

The temperature is a little bit warmer than the Conejo Valley but mostly moderate year-round.

 

The Oak Park School District is one of the most highly desirable in the area. The schools rank highly on www.GreatSchools.org Oak Park Unified School District was formed in 1977 when it seceded from the Simi Valley School District. Oak Park High School offers baseball, boys and girls basketball, cheer, Cross Country, dance, football, golf, lacrosse, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls tennis, track and field, and boys and girls volleyball. Oak Park is in the Tri-Valley and Frontier League depending on the sport. Many people move to Oak Park specifically because the schools rank very high in their test scores and the classrooms have a small teacher/student ratio.

 

There are approximately 10 parks in Oak Park in which soccer, baseball, basketball, water polo, swimming, softball, lacrosse and football are played.

 

Many people come to Oak Park for the many beautiful hiking/biking trails. In the summer, Oak Park has some concerts in the park which are well-attended.

 

Throughout the 20th century, studios used the area to film movies and in particular westerns.
